Request Account and Data Deletion
Request Account Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your WiseBite account and all associated personal data. This page explains what happens when you delete your account and how to submit a deletion request.
What Gets Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:
- Your account profile and personal information
- Email address and authentication credentials
- Dietary preferences, allergies, and dislikes
- Meal plans and food logs
- Recipe favorites and ratings
- Taste profile data
- Grocery lists and saved preferences
- Usage history and activity data
What May Be Retained
In certain circumstances, we may retain some information for legal or operational purposes:
- Data required to comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax records, transaction history)
- Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you
- Data necessary for resolving disputes or enforcing our Terms of Service
Any retained data will be kept only for as long as legally required or necessary for the stated purposes.
How to Request Deletion
You can request account deletion through any of the following methods:
Option 1: Through the App
- Open the WiseBite app
- Navigate to Settings
- Select "Account Settings"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Follow the prompts to confirm deletion
Option 2: Contact Us
If you cannot access the app or prefer to submit a request via email, please contact us through the "Contact Us" feature in the App settings, or send an email to our support team with the subject line "Account Deletion Request."
Please include the following information in your request:
- Your account email address
- Confirmation that you want to delete your account
- Any additional information that may help us locate your account
Processing Time
We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receipt. You will receive a confirmation email once your account and data have been deleted. During this period, your account will be deactivated and you will not be able to access it.
Important Considerations
⚠️ This action cannot be undone
Once your account is deleted, all your data will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered. If you think you might want to use WiseBite again in the future, consider deactivating your account instead of deleting it.
Data Portability
Before deleting your account, you may want to export your data. You can request a copy of your data in a portable format through the App settings. This allows you to keep a copy of your meal plans, recipes, and preferences before deletion.
